Hello, I'm Reiner Dieg.
Born in Bremen, Germany, I have lived in the U.S. since the age of four.
I graduated from Colgate University in upstate New York with a degree
in French literature, and have spent a lot of time in places where French
and German are spoken.
Languages have always been one of my main interests. While working for
the United Nations, I studied Spanish, Czech and Japanese.
Later, I developed an interest in computer languages, and worked as a programmer/analyst
in a medical school, a bank, and a health insurance company, eventually
working on Oracle code under contract for a variety of clients.
Since 2001, I have been writing documentation and marketing materials
for KeepTool, a publisher of software utilities
for Oracle databases, and am that company's North American representative.
I have also translated user interfaces, user documentation and marketing texts for various other companies in Europe. As a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), I belong to that organization's International Technical Communications Special Interest Group.
My family and I live in the Finger Lakes area of New York State, within
a day's drive of most major cities in the northeastern U.S. and eastern
Seneca Lake in Fall, courtesy
